When you’ve been hit by the travel bug, you can’t stop it, you will want to fly and wander somewhere. Once a year, twice a year, monthly… it doesn’t matter. If you’re a wanderlust when you’re still single, are you gonna stop traveling once you have a family with kids in tow? I bet the answer is a big fat NO, just like our case.
Before Gwen reached 2 years old, we maximized her free flights because children under 2 can sit on the lap. After that, children 2 years old and above pays the same rate as adults. I admit that our travels became less frequent now that we’re paying 3 full rates, sometimes 4 if we bring the yaya. Budget in airfare is a major factor in our trips. Promo fares have been scarce lately and you need to have a lot of patience when you see one, because website crashes after a few clicks, etc.
Gwen is turning 7 years old on December and we wish to spend her birthday outside the country, in Japan. She likes to go back to Hong Kong again but I told her to visit a new country for a change. But traveling to Japan requires more budget than HK so I’m already scouting for cheap flights as early as now. Since I have no luck with promo fares anymore, I just downloaded the Traveloka App, the one-stop travel booking app for cheap flights.
I love how user-friendly Traveloka App’s interface is. At the onset, you are presented with clear options between Flights, Hotels, Price Alerts, and Ongoing Promos. Since I’m just researching how much will be our budget for a Japan vacation, I chose the International Flights option and entered Tokyo, Japan in the destination field. Here’s one feature that I really like, Best Price Finder. Best Price Finder lets you compare daily prices across the months and find the best dates to fly. You can see this feature by opening the calendar, at the bottom of the screen, activate the Beat Price Finder toggle button.
Aside from showing the lowest price estimates, another feature that I like is the Honest Price guarantee. There are no hidden charges, what you see is what you pay. The price shown already includes Airport Tax, Philippine Travel Tax and other surcharges, how convenient!
Once you decided on your flight schedules and filling in the passenger details, it’s time for payment. There are easy ways to pay for your flights, choose the one that suits you. Traveloka accepts Visa and Mastercard credit cards, Dragonpay, Coins, Bancnet, and even 7-Eleven payments!
After payment, you will then receive the e-ticket in your email after 60 minutes. Once you receive your e-ticket, there’s no need to print it. Just show the e-ticket on the Traveloka App upon check-in. You can access it anytime even when you’re not connected to the internet.
Traveloka App will be a permanent app on my phone, it is indeed an essential travel app for families who want to have a budget-friendly vacation. Download your free Traveloka App on Google Play and App Store.

Knowing all of your taxes and surcharges ahead of time is a great thing! It can certainly be an extra cost that isn’t thought about or added to your budget ahead of time.
Thank You Honey says
This sounds like an amazing app! Sounds very user friendly. Would love to visit Asia one day when my son gets a little older.

I also use the Traveloka App the last time we went to Hong Kong. The app is really helpful when it comes to finding the best deals.

This is an awesome app to have! As much as we would want to travel, it is always the cost of airfare that would hinder us from doing so. I am happy you can take advantage of several payment options with the app. I see you can even pay at a 7-11 store!

I would give anything to spend my birthday in Japan! But the app sounds promising. I’m always looking for great deals on airlines because I want to save as much as I can on big trips, maybe this will help me save the last buck.

I hope you have some fabulous travels! We try to use airline miles whenever possible and use Priceline for last minute hotels!

It’s never too soon to take your kids traveling. I took my oldest to Paris when she was just 13 months old. I would love to visit Japan some day. This app sounds wonderful!
