August is Buwan ng Wika and most schools celebrate this month by organizing different activities for the students. Along with the celebration, children will be asked to dress in Filipiniana costumes.
So in preparation for the costume hunting this month, I will list the places you can buy Filipiniana costumes for kids.
Divisoria
Divisoria has everything, including Filipiniana costumes. There’s a stall in 168 Mall, located at Level 4, that sells costumes for kids. I think they also accept made to order.

Quiapo
Nanay used to buy our costumes here when we were studying. So when Gwen needed a Balintawak costume for their Linggo ng Wika when she was in Junior Kinder, we went to Palanca Street in Quiapo, this is the same street where Excellente Ham is located. I bought the Balintawak dress here and the native slippers.

Palanca Street in Quiapo has a 3 or 4 stores selling Filipiniana costumes
Kultura
Kultura in SM Makati and Mall of Asia now has Filipiniana costumes for adults and kids. They have nice designs too but a bit pricier. But you can go here for convenience and if you’re pressed for time.
SM Department Store, Robinsons Department Store, and Landmark
The big department stores recognized the need of the parents looking for Filipino costumes for their kids that’s why they now carry it. If you don’t have time to go to Divisoria and Quiapo, just a slight price difference will save you the hassle of going there. Last time I checked, the kids’ costumes are a little less than 500 pesos at SM.
