After stressing myself for Gwen’s United Nations costume last week, here comes Halloween that needs…a costume. I was pushing her to just use her UN costume, she was Ms. Greece and she dressed up as a Greek goddess. Costume na sana yun di ba? Buuuut….just like last year, she had other characters in mind.
Just a throwback since I wasn’t able to blog about her halloween costume last 2015, she dressed as Yayadub. Aldub is at its peak that time, and she’s hooked watching them. She dressed up as Maine Mendoza by wearing a white polo shirt, black leggings, red bag, white watch, AND of course, polka dot apron, pak!
This year, she wanted to dress up as Harley Quinn from the Suicide Squad movie. Nung sinabi nya sa akin, I googled it just to make sure.
Here’s the peg:
Materials needed for a DIY Harley Quinn costume:
- red and blue fabric for the shorts and shirt accent
- 3/4 sleeve white shirt
- red and blue hair color spray or hair extensions
- black gloves
For the shorts, just look for a tutorial on YouTube, it’s so easy. There are also shorts pattern/layout you can download. The easiest is to just trace your daughter’s shorts, no need for measurements. I bought the fabric from The Fabric Warehouse, I got half a yard of each color.
For Harley’s shirt, I asked our friend to print “Daddy’s Lil Monster” on the shirt. Then I just sew the red fabric on the sleeves and at the top part.
It’s better if you can find red and blue hair color spray, but it’s sold out in Watsons. Good thing I found hair extensions at SM Department store for Php 129.75 each.
For the accessory, Jeff made a baseball bat from cartolina. He rolled it and stuffed the insides with more paper.

Meet our Harley…
Mission accomplished! No tricks for Harley, just treats.
She’ll wear it again in Boracay this weekend para naman masulit ang pagtatahi ko.
