Our kids have been cooped up at home since March, they weren’t able to finish school and didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to their classmates. At first, yan ang laging sinasabi ni Gwen, she misses her classmates daw. That’s understandable kasi naman kids were abruptly stopped from their bahay-school routine. When summer came and she learned about our cancelled travel vacation, another frustration na naman for her.
Kids spending all their time inside our homes gives us parents peace of mind knowing that they are safe from being exposed to the COVID-19 disease. But it’s also challenging for us parents to think of ways to keep our BIBo kids entertained, to feed their always-hungry tummies with nutritious food, and to help them stay active even indoors.
Here are some Panalo Parenting tips to keep kids active and healthy in the new normal:
1. Catch some sun.
Early morning sun from 7 am to 9 pm is good for kids and adults alike. Studies show that vitamin D from the sun helps in boosting immunity. Aside from that, sunlight can also help brighten our mood.
2. Manage screen time.
It is very easy especially for us work-at-home parents to just give them the iPads or tablets so that we can work peacefully. But it’s important to have their limits too.
3. Assign household chores.
Kids thrive on routines, they have routines at school so why not practice this at home? Besides, they also love taking on responsibilities, this gives them a feeling na they are grown up. Of course, this depends on their age, so give them what’s appropriate. With Gwen, she’s in charge of making the bed in the morning, sweeping the floor, and helping out prepare the ingredients when we cook.
4. Encourage their creativity.
Stimulate their brains and improve focus through arts and crafts, coloring books, pretend play, and giving them something to read. It’s also great if parents can join, time na rin to spend time with them without distraction from work.
It depends on your child’s interest, in Gwen’s case, she still loves playing with clay. She can spend hours doing this.
5. Keep in touch with friends and loved ones.
Aside from their physical well-being, we should also look out for our kids’ social and mental health. There are times when Gwen misses Nanay (grandmother) or her classmates, and we take advantage of technology and just do Zoom/video calls to check on our families.
6. Have plenty of sleep.
For school-age kids, they need 9 to 12 hours of sleep at night. It’s not only important with their physical development, but also for their mental health.
7. Teach them personal hygiene habits.
Since this pandemic, proper personal hygiene is one thing that can protect us from diseases. Taking a bath, brushing teeth, wearing clean clothes, and proper handwashing will keep them healthy.
8. Eat a healthy diet.
Avoid stocking up on junk foods and sugary snacks para kids are less tempted to grab them while watching TV or playing. Eat 3 balanced meals a day plus their daily dose of milk.
I give Gwen Vitaminized Lactum 3+ because it has immuno-nutrients vitamins A, C, E, Zinc, Selenium PLUS Prebiotic Inulin which promotes good bacteria and a healthy tummy to help support her immune system. Lactum 3+ has key vitamins needed for the B-rain, I-mmunity, and Bo-nes, kaya I’m confident that I’m raising a BIBo kid in this new normal. Aside from the plain variant, there’s also a chocolate flavor with the same BIBo nutrients which your kids will definitely love!

True yan Mommy B. We must teach our kids to do some chores and their personal hygiene too. Since 2 yrs old pa lang naman baby ko. We’re just having lambingan everytime, pag maaraw lalabas kami para di naman sya masyado mamutla since bawal po lumabas ang mga bagets.
