Disclosure: This post has been presented by Jollibee but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I learned a new hybrid word today, it’s called Framily. If there’s a Frenemy, which we all don’t want to have, then Framily is the exact opposite. It’s when your friends became your family. We can meet a lot of friends throughout the years but there can only be a few that you can call friends for life… BFFs… framily!
Having said that, I would like you to meet my framily. We’ve been friends since 2nd year high school and you know what they say? That your high school friends will be your friends for life. We came from an all-girls Catholic school and we really grew up as sisters. After 2 decades and we’re still here, I’d say it’s really true.
Back in high school, we would always hang out and eat at Jollibee near our school. That place has witnessed all our laughter, tears, embarrassing moments, and secrets. We barely meet since we graduated from college, we’re lucky if we can see each other twice or thrice a year. Despite that, we remained close and once we see each other, it always seems like yesterday. One day is not enough to catch up with everything, it’s really sad that we can’t be together as much because we now have our own families who need us 24/7. But we all know in our hearts that we will always be there for each other no matter what.
Jollibee is not only for kids and families, it’s also for friends that stood the test of time. I really can’t help but feel nostalgic after watching this video. We usually have Jollibee Yum Burger as merienda because that’s one of the cheapest in the menu that our allowance could buy. At times when I eat my Jollibee Yum Burger, I’m reminded of our 100% maasahan and 100% time-tested friendship.
The video made me miss my friends badly, especially now that reunions are happening left and right. We should set up one soon!
