I was in the supermarket thinking what to serve during Noche Buena. It was my second time to think of the menu for my family without Nanay since we moved out. Nakakastress pala! Stress na nga sa pila sa grocery, stress pa kakaisip ng lulutuin. Good thing I went to the frozen section and found the Purefoods Heat and Eat line. When I saw those two words: HEAT and EAT, I was sold!
The Purefoods Heat and Eat line comes in two variants: Lechon Kawali with a serving size of 425g per bag good for 3-4 persons and Crispy Pata at 900g per bag for 5-6 persons. This is perfect not only for the holidays but all year round. Before, I get to cook this when there’s a special occasion because it’s tedious and time-consuming. But not anymore, I’m gonna stock up on these in the freezer so whenever someone craves for Lechon Kawali or Crispy Pata or whenever there are guests, I can just put them in the turbo broiler or pan fry them.
I asked on Facebook what are my friends’ preferred method of cooking lechon kawali and crispy pata, and majority is by using a turbo broiler. So I’ll follow the majority haha…
Honestly, the waiting time of 20 minutes is the difficult part, the kitchen smells so inviting plus you can see the pata’s skin popping as it cooks and becomes crispy.
OMG! The Crispy Pata came out really crispy and just like what they serve in the restaurants! I can’t believe I cook that :p
Let’s try the Lechon Kawali, same method using the turbo broiler, 250 C for 20-25 minutes.
I remember Nanay used to cook this during Media Noche and she will boil first the meat and then freeze it overnight. While everyone’s busy with the party outside, Nanay is in the kitchen cooking her Lechon Kawali. Now, I can also serve Lechon Kawali to my family in just 20 minutes because Purefoods Heat and Eat line is fully cooked, so convenient!
Everyone is reaching out for the cracklings.
The Lechon Kawali is good for 3-4 persons while the Crispy Pata is good for 5-6 persons.
You can get the new Purefoods Heat and Eat line in major supermarkets and Monterey meatshops. Follow Purefoods Heat and Eat on Facebook and Instagram for more details.

I’ll check these out in the supermarket! Sana meron na sa Davao. I made barbecue baked ribs last NYE, and while it wasn’t time-consuming, this would have been a lot easier. Will certainly try these!

Ay gusto ko to :)) I’m wary of cooking crispy pata and lechon kawala and leave it to our helper instead. LOL. Masubukan nga 🙂
