Diaper changing with a toddler is different than with a baby. When Gwen was less than 1 year old, she behaves well that’s why changing nappies was a breeze. It’s a different story by the time she turned 1 year old and up. It’s hard to keep her still, andyan yung nasisipa ka pa during nappy change, or worse having poop in your hands (oops sorry!). That’s why we shifted to a Huggies Dry Pants when I couldn’t handle her kalikutan.

In the Kitchen will be the category where I will post some of the recipes I cook for my family. I promise you these are super-duper easy recipes because I’m really not an expert in the kitchen plus the fact that I don’t want recipes with so many steps/how-tos. Just 4-6 instructions, anything more than that, I skip the page of my recipe book and look for simpler recipes. So newbies in the kitchen, I hope you’ll try my recipes or suggestions and let’s share kitchen secrets!
This is another simple pasta recipe. I prefer cooking carbonara over tomato-based pasta because I find it easier since I just open all the ingredients, dump them in one pot, just add a bit salt if needed, and voila! Unlike in tomato-based pasta where I need to adjust on salt, sugar and pepper. My Tuna Carbonara recipe is special because I use Cream of Mushroom to make the sauce creamier and tastier. No need to use expensive Cream of Mushroom, I use Jolly Cream of Mushroom and also a small can of Jolly Mushrooms, cheaper alternative but yields delicious carbonara sauce too.

Happy Halloween! It’s my birthday tomorrow but first let’s celebrate halloween :). If you’re reading my blog, you know how excited we area this time of the year. Well, we spent Trick or Treat in Boracay for 3 straight years. My parents are from Aklan kasi, and they go to the province for undas, sumasabay kami pero we go straight to Boracay. This year is different, when I booked our tickets during a seat sale, sabi namin ibang destination naman. So I chose Cebu, our flight was supposed to be last night. Tapos this time, dapat nasa Bantayan island na kami. Kaya lang nagkatamaran the last minute, kaya ayan we’re stuck here in the city. We’re heading to Las Pinas na lang this weekend.
Anyway, our office had its annual Halloween celebration for the kids. This year, Gwen is dressed as Princess Anna. Hindi nyo pa ba kilala si Princess Anna, naku, I’m sure patok na patok ang Frozen costumes no? Mapa-Anna or Elsa.

Last October 11, we attended the 3rd birthday of Jeff’s goddaughter at Jollibee Casimiro in Las Pinas. It was a Hello Kitty themed birthday party. I noticed that Jollibee is more lenient these days when it comes to party themes and other additional party activities. When Gwen celebrated her 1st birthday at Jollibee Shell Macapagal, I remembered having a lot of restrictions like prohibiting character-themed party favors and souvenirs, bringing in other food items, hiring non-accredited suppliers like photobooth, etc. Now, Jollibee even has a Hello Kitty theme, perfect for little girls!
Jeff’s cousin, Sherwee, is good at crafts and DIY. She first made a DIY candy buffet at her son’s birthday last January, also in Jollibee but with a Cowboy-theme. For this Hello Kitty themed birthday party, here’s what her DIY Candy Buffet looks like.

The opening of the first H&M store here in the Philippines rocked the fashion scene. Imagine, people falling in line a day before the shop opens, crazy right? But yeah, I posted on FB that people should not panic, hehe… There are more branches opening soon, I saw branches to be opened in Robinsons Magnolia and SM Makati. I love H&M too, and I look forward shopping in it whenever we’re in HK and last month, in Bangkok. Pero di ko pa rin tatyagain pumila :p.
I was chatting with a friend and I said I have mixed reactions about H&M opening here. Kasi I won’t have something to look forward to when we go abroad. First, Forever 21, Uniqlo, then Cotton On, and now H&M. Slight lang naman :p. I really like H&M among the retail brands mentioned, H&M kasi is classic and trendy at the same time. Uniqlo is my second fave because of good quality and its classic styles. Not much of a fan of Forever 21 and Cotton On.
Anyway, funny story how we got to buy Gwen’s whole outfit. Originally, when we first went out, she’s wearing pink sleeveless shirt, shorts, and her saltwater sandals. We went to our agenda that day, Thai cooking class, after lunch and since we have nothing to do, we checked out Siam Paragon Mall. H&M greeted me at the entrance hehe. Jeff allowed me to indulge while he searched for a sofa inside the store since Gwen fell asleep. H&M in Siam Paragon has 2 floors only (H&M Philippines has 3 floors daw!). Hindi pa ako nakakapili nakita ko gising na si Gwen. Tapos nilalamig daw because of the full blast aircon. She went inside wearing a sando-shorts-sandals and went out looking like this.
