In the Kitchen will be the category where I will post some of the recipes I cook for my family. I promise you these are super-duper easy recipes because I’m really not an expert in the kitchen plus the fact that I don’t want recipes with so many steps/how-tos. Just 4-6 instructions, anything more than that, I skip the page of my recipe book and look for simpler recipes. So newbies in the kitchen, I hope you’ll try my recipes or suggestions and let’s share kitchen secrets!

Between me and my husband, Jeff, he likes veggies more than I do. Whenever there’s a salad section in a buffet, he would help himself for a serving or two. I started making bento baon for Gwen when she was in Kindergarten. It’s to motivate her to go to school and eat her baon as well. I admit I’m not as talented as other moms who does bento like a pro like my friend Kaye of Bento Mommas. She’s the first one na nakita ko na gumagawa ng bento, hindi pa uso talaga ang bento nun but Kaye makes them for her son, Rylie.

On fight against acne… Wag mong isuko ang laban

At some point in our lives, we went to a phase when we experienced troubled skin, acne, pimples, etc. I didn’t experience having pimples during my adolescent years, but when I was in my early 20s, naglabasan sila for a few months. Cystic pimples sila, so bukod sa malalaking pimples talaga sa cheeks at chin area, masakit na masakit pa! Whenever I go to the derma, may baon akong tissue kasi masakit nga! During that phase, naka-experience din ako sabihan na…”Anong nangyari sa mukha mo?” Meron naman kunwari concerned sayo, pero bebentahan ka pala ng product nya.

That’s when my self-confidence plummeted. Yes, it’s true na may kasabihan na beauty is only skin-deep, na what’s inside like your character and intelligence is more important. But still, when you’re in the real world, factor pa rin yun.
