Since it has been a tradition to share to you the Mercury Drug Bantay Kalusugan Flu Vaccination Schedule yearly, I’m posting their schedule for May 2016. It doesn’t hurt to get extra protection against diseases. I really want to advocate natural remedies as much as possible but being down with flu for days and missing school for our kids and work for us working moms, is a big deal. The flu shots they give in Mercury Drug is just Php 450, big savings compared to having one from our doctor. I’m not sure if they can cater to kids, though, it’s still best to have your kids vaccinated from your pediatrician. For adults and senior citizens, it’s okay to get it from Mercury.

Why you should get a flu shot?

According to kidshealth.org, CDC recommends that you should get vaccinated if:

• you are pregnant
• you are 5 years old and below
• you are 65 years old and older
• you have long-term health conditions

Gwen’s pediatrician also said that school-aged kids should have flu shots kasi nga naman ang daling magkahawaan sa school. She also advised to get a flu shot if you are a frequent traveler.
