This coming Holy Week, from April 16 to April 19, 2014, Maynilad announced that there will be water service interruption in some areas of Metro Manila and Cavite.
To address the perennial flooding in Manila, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will construct an interceptor drainage box culvert along Blumentritt St.
Unfortunately, this structure will cross Maynilad’s water pipe along Juan Luna St. and Hermosa St., so we must re-align our pipe prior to the implementation of the said DPWH project.
We will need 72 hours to expose, dewater, re-align and energize our pipe because it is a 7-foot-tall primary line.
Areas affected are as follows: Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa, as well as the whole of Bacoor, Noveleta, Cavite City, Imus, and Kawit in Cavite.
Caloocan is included in the affected area but our Barangay is not included in the list. But just the same, we’re storing water to be sure. Good thing we’re going to Baguio on Holy Wednesday so we’ll just store what we need before we go on vacation.
The complete list of water interruption schedule can be found in Maynilad website but I made an Excel file just for you dear readers. Feel free to share this info so that other people in those areas will have ample time to store water.
