Super finds at Landers Superstore Balintawak

Finallly, my curiosity was satisfied when I got the chance to visit the newly opened Landers Superstore. I pass by Landers everyday but we didn’t apply for a membership yet. Jeff and I are still choosing between getting a membership at Landers or renewing our S&R membership. Thankfully, my friend Trixie, is already a member, and she agreed to accompany us to Landers (user-friendly lang hehehe).

Without further ado, let me take you to a virtual tour inside Landers Supertore Balintawak. Before you enter the supermarket, there’s a Talas Barber Shop for the boys who doesn’t enjoy doing the groceries. The comfort rooms are also located just before the entrance. The aisles are more spacious than S&R, I can imagine if magme-member’s sale din sila, I’m sure it won’t be as crowded.

I like the clean look and higher ceiling of Landers.

Aside from imported groceries and household items, Landers also has furniture and some clothes.

I was looking for Lifetime brand of plastic tables and chairs, but they don’t carry them. All I saw was the Samsonite brand for table similar to Lifetime.

Para sa mga OC sa paglilinis, I spotted some novel cleaning supplies. FYI, maraming stock ng Swiffer!

My friends enjoyed the free taste at some of the aisles, especially the chocolates.

I bought Gwen this big Santa Kinder Egg for Php 209… a few minutes later, may nag-wholesale na ng lahat ng stocks nila nito. I hope they restock soon, this is perfect as gifts, may 4 surprise eggs na sya.

At Landers, everything is supersized. There’s a giant Hello Panda box, contains 10 packs of Hello Panda.

Kirkland food products are plenty including these Turkey Burgers.

So tempted to hoard these frozen fruits, the Frozen Strawberries are Php 180 lang.

So much have been posted about Mercer’s Dairy Wine Ice Cream, kaya hindi ko na pinicturan, just read the other blogs about Landers. Besides, I got distracted with this 2L tub of happiness….

Cadbury + Peppermint + Chocolate, TAKE MY MONEY!!!…. Price is not bad, Php 329.75 for 2 liters.

Stock up on your hard-to-find spices, they have Badia, a US brand.

Another plus point of Landers is that it has an aisle dedicated to vitamins and supplements that are only available in the US. No need to go to PX goods store or online stores selling them. They have Tylenol, Centrum for Men and Women, Lil Critters, etc.

Another reason why Jeff wanted to check out Landers is because of their craft beer selection. But the local craft beers such as Great Islands and Katipunan are out of stock. So I bought some impoted IPAs (India Pale Ale) for Jeff. Craft beers are priced at Php 149 to Php 199.

Landers also has a seafood section. This is my first time to see a Curacha, looks like a cross between a crab and a lobster. Meron na rin silang nakahimay na crab meat.

It is important to note that if you’e using your credit card to pay, the surname of the credit card holder must be the same as the member’s surname.

If you get hungry, there’s Doppio for coffee, Dough and Co. for breads and pastries, and Landers Central for pizza, chicken, and Nathan’s hotdogs. Pizza is Php 109 per slice.

Landers Membership Fee

Premium/Personal Membership = Php 800 / 1 extension card for Php 400
Business Membership = Php 1,000 / 4 extension cards for Php 400 each

All memberships are good for 12 months.

Added perks is the Php 2 discount per liter on gas and Php 1.50 discount on diesel if you gas up at Caltex beside Landers.

Is the membership worth it?

Like I said, I asked my friend to help me decide whether we should pay for a membership or just renew at S&R. I suggest that you’ll also do the same to see for yourself. It’s really subjective like if your family uses a brand that only Landers carries, then go ahead and be a member. Since Landers is a new player in membership shopping, they only have 2 branches at the moment (Landers Otis branch is opening on Oct. 6!), they are still working on improvement of their stock selections, there’s plenty of room for improvement.
