July is Atopic Dermatitis month according to Pediatric Dermatology Philippines, subspecialty of the Philippine Dermatological Society.
Atopic dermatitis, a type of eczema, is an inflammatory, chronically relapsing, non-contagious and pruritic (that is, itchy) skin disorder.
At a media gathering courtesy of Cetaphil, pediatric dermatologist Dr. Donna Sarrosa said that atopic dermatitis is very common in children. Some would call it as “skin asthma” or “hika sa balat”.
To help parents and children be educated about atopic dermatitis and other skin care problems related with children, there will be a Child Skin Care Clinic entitled “Kutis ng Bata-Alagang Derma” on July 3, 2012 (Tuesday) at SM Megamall, Megatrade Hall 3. Pediatric dermatologist will talk about skin care on babies, toddlers and children. This is a whole day event with free consultations from pediatric doctors.
Mark your calendars and see you there!
