Since Gwen started eating solid food, I planned to buy her a high chair. I think a high chair will be the most useful baby gear that she can have. Besides, I think she deserves one luxury item, after all, her crib and stroller are already hand-me-downs. Another advantage of having a high chair is that the child will learn the value of eating together as a family because she can join on the table while they eat. It’s also an opportunity to teach a child table manners this early.
I like the high chair to be simple, not bulky and no hanky-pankies like toys hanging, musical buttons thingie… Here are some of the baby high chairs we liked:
Tripp Trapp Highchair by Stokke:
Tripp Trapp is tagged as “the chair that grows with the child”. Well, it should be because of its price tag. We checked it at Mothercare Trinoma and it costs around Php 15, 000 and that does not include the baby set attachment yet.
Boon Pedestal Highchair:
It’s cute and modern, I like the pneumatic lift concept but it’s too fancy for a baby. Priced at $279.99.
Below are the two highchairs that are closer to reality, price-wise and we’re more inclined to get them…
Mothercare Ako highchair:
We like the fact that it can still grow with the baby until 2 or 3 years old. The wooden components can be adjusted according to the child’s size and preference. Priced at Php 6,999.
Ikea Antilop Highchair:
The simplest among the highchairs we looked at. I’m just not sure if it’s comfortable to sit on because it doesn’t have cushions. We saw a similar design in Landmark priced at Php 1,999.
I’m also weighing the options of getting a booster seat instead, so that it’s portable and we can carry it anywhere.
Help me decide please!

My daughter used a high chair before. It was only a simple one, costs around P3000 I think and parang yung Ikea Antilop Highchair. Yung ganun pinili namin kasi pwede dalhin like sa kitchen pag nagluluto pwede sya maupo dun habang nagluluto ako hehe…but now I’m thinking of getting her a booster seat too kasi kasabay na namin sya kumain sa table and nakaluhod sya para maaobt yung plate and utensils…

since alex and i am not yet sure about another baby, i’m checking 2ndhand items online here too. i’m alo in the lookout of a good high chair. there’s this site called “mom to mom” in korean where moms sell and buy everything related to babies or parenting. prices are reasonable considering everything here is really expensive but i like checking “seoul craiglist” more. it’s where the expats here sell their stuffs for more reasonably cheap prices… it’s where i got some cute stuffs for SooAe.

Those look like quality highchairs. They’re a bit too pricey for me though 🙂

I’ve seen Tripp Trapp Highchair by Stokke somewhere before and the design is brilliant! It’s flexible and it looks sturdy. But I agree, they’re pricey but if you don’t mind the price naman, go lang. 🙂

actually, the Trip Trapp is a nice buy and a good investment. Even if you pay that much , it lasts for long unlike buying a high chair and then have to dispose or trash it after the baby is grown.

Sis, we opted for a conventional high chair. I got Zoe’s though from my boss who was leaving for the US that time. Bought it for 1k only and it was only used couple of times by my boss’ son. Zoe uses this chair a lot.
