Last Sunday, our princess turned 3! And just like her 2nd birthday, we just celebrated it with the family. Her 2nd birthday was at Yakimix with my Aunt, Nanay and Yaya Gladys. This time, Nanay is in the province so it will be just the three of us, and Yaya Rose. We had dinner at the Spiral.
We started the day by hearing mass, we attended the 10 am mass together with Rose. After mass, we had lunch at Jollibee. Gwen requested for ice cream, and she got it. It’s her day so she can eat what she wants. Normally, we will not give in until she ate her rice but… her birthday is an exception, she just ate a few fries and ice cream.
We went home after lunch so that Gwen can take a nap. We have a reservation at Spiral buffet at Sofitel for dinner, it starts at 6:30 pm. Rose will be left in the house (read: nasa 3,700+ kasi ang buffet kaya di na afford :p), that’s why I prepared her snacks and meals for the night.
We learned that there’s a Metro Manila Filmfest Parade that afternoon along Roxas Blvd. that’s why Jeff decided that we left early so as not to be caught in traffic. True enough, when we passed by Roxas Blvd. by 3 pm, people were already lined up along Roxas Blvd.
Since we’re very early, we decided to pass time at the CCP complex.
It was so humid that afternoon so we planned to hang out inside Starbucks but it’s jam-packed too. We decided to see what’s in store at the mini-tiangge but minutes later, we got bored… and hungry. Suddenly, I got a call from the reservation at Sofitel confirming our dinner reservation. I asked if we can go to the hotel early and just hang out there. She said yes and so we went to Sofitel around 4 pm.
While Jeff proceeded to the parking area, we headed to the lobby and immediately saw the huge gingerbread house.
We hit the playground after….
We played at the playground until sunset. We found a perfect spot to sit and watch the sunset. Too bad we didn’t bring a tripod. No family pic here.
Finally, it’s time to hit the buffet. The birthday girl got so tired playing kaya…
While the girl is asleep, we grabbed the chance to eat, eat, eat. When she woke up, she asked for chicharap and corn. Yan lang naman talaga kinakain nyan…
Here’s my dessert plate consisting of dark chocolate truffle cake which I really like.

Whoa, Php3,700 for a buffet! That’s expensive, so dapat sulitin, but I’m sure it was worth it because I heard The Spiral is one of the best, if not the best, buffet places in Manila.

Pag lunch buffet mas mura sis. My first Spiral experience, I got a deal through Cashcashpinoy, abang lang sa groupon sites.
