I cannot reiterate enough how fun it is to have a little girl! I have real-life doll that I can dress up. What’s more exciting is that kids clothing nowadays are slowly evolving. Gone are the days when kids clothes only means shirts with cartoon characters on it and girls should only wear pink, agree?

At an early age, I want Gwen to be a reader, a book lover. My love for reading started when I was in kindergarten, I would pretend to read the newspaper. The pretensions paid off though, I started reading way ahead than my classmates. In grade school, Nanay will always buy me Sweet Valley Twins books for me to read and exchange with my classmates. Sadly, I don’t have the luxury to read books anymore, and to buy books, they are so expensive nowadays. But still, I resist reading with ebooks, I still want to smell the pages of a new book and flip through its crisp pages. (I’m saving up for the Fifty Shades trilogy, btw)
Anyway, enough of me, and let me show you Gwen’s new board books. I have a Php 300 National Bookstore GCs, initially, I just want to buy new crayons and coloring books but when Jeff and I saw these board books, we bought them without hesitations.

Today, Daddy took Gwen shoe shopping. We’ve been contemplating on buying her branded (and pricey) shoes because we still think it’s impractical. Children grow so fast, buy them shoes and give it a month or two and they will outgrow it. But yeah, we gave in to a Nike City Sandal because we can’t find any cheaper alternative for a good outdoor sandals (we don’t like Crocs).

At 16 months, I bought Gwen her first kiddie toothbrush. It’s a tad late, because some people advise to start practicing dental hygiene as early as 6 months or as soon as teeth erupt. I wasn’t worried at all even if she started late, Jeff, on the other hand, was the one who is always convincing me to start our dental routine. One main reason why I delayed toothbrushing, “Eh paano sya magbabanlaw? Baka inumin nya..” Obviously, I was clueless how to rinse my toddler’s milky whites after toothbrushing. So when I got the chance to ask this to our pedia, I was enlightened, “Aaaah, ganun pala…”
