Before leaving for Hong Kong, I tried to pump and store milk for Gwen so that she can still have breastmilk while I was away. I used my feeding bottles as storage and put them inside the fridge for 3 days because I don’t have breastmilk storage bags yet. When I already bought Nanny bags from SM, I transferred the milk without mixing them, separate bottles went to separate bags too. When I tested the oldest bag, thawed to room temperature, the breastmilk smelled funky and tasted sour. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I failed on my attempt in storing my breastmilk. =(
Meanwhile, I have to study on how to get rid of acne my skin is not getting any better. And I can’t just use over-the-counter products because some products might interfere with breastfeeding.

Hmmm, and I thought storing it in the ref would not spoil the breastmilk.
Don’t get discouraged!!
Try again!!
Go! Mommy!!

I am pretty sure you did not use NANNY brand breastmilk storage bags, From the photos, it is clearly LANSINOH Milk Bags. I have been using Nanny Milk Bags for the past 9 months and are very happy with the milk bags. Contrary to what you said, there is no funky smell or my ebm tasted sour. In fact is the Lansinoh milk bags that I have such experience with and then I switched to Nanny Milk Bags. No funky smell or sour taste, my ebm taste perfectly as fresh as like it was expressed yesterday 🙂

Hi, the photo I used is for posting purposes only, I just googled in on the net. I used Nanny bags in my attempt of breastmilk storage. I might have done something in the process that made the milk sour. 🙁 Congrats on expressing and storing your bm.

storing breastmilk sure takes some tricks to master, but i bet you got the hang of it in no time. i never got to experience this as i barely had breastmilk since my little one refused to latch when he was just an infant…one of my mummy frustrations, really! 🙁
