Gwen, my active toddler, has been eating solid foods like what adults eat. She eats rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner, lol! As long as we have “sabaw”, she’s good. And lately, she likes eating fried rice mixed with eggs too.
The second to the last baby food that Jeff made was Apple, Banana and Strawberry Recipe. He made this because Gwen had a bad case of cough because of tonsilitis. She doesn’t want to eat nor drink her milk, she finds it hard to swallow then so Jeff made a treat for her… And also for her quick recovery…
Apple, Banana and Strawberries Puree:
1 Apple
1 cup Strawberries
1 or 2 Bananas (depends on the size)
Just chop everything in the same size (cubes).
Steam.
Blend until the desired consistency. Chunkier if your baby is 9 months or older.
Some geeky nutritional facts why it’s good:
- Apple is a good source of dietary fiber and vitamin C.
- Bananas are a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium and manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin B6.
- Strawberries are a good source of folate and potassium, and a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C and manganese.

This is a really good recipe for solid starters. I remember myself doing a lot of pureeing when my daughter was still starting out in solids. good luck! 🙂

Hi Badet, what can you recommend as first solid food puree? My son would be re-starting with solid this weekend. He started last month but he got allergic to cerelac, so I’m planning on giving him a natural puree. Any suggestion for a first solid food?

Try boiled potatoes then mash, or squash para matamis. When I cook nilaga, I scoop out the potatoes and some broth before finally seasoning the nilaga, tapos mash na yung potatoes.
If the pedia still insists on dry cereals, try mo muna yung organic cereals sa Healthy Options, may mga gluten-free kinds.
