Between me and my husband Jeff, he’s the one who has a green thumb. Pero sure naman akong may konting green din naman sa akin kasi ako yung tiga-dilig ng Auntie who is a Certified PLANTITA during summer vacation sa province when I was younger.
Anyway, Jeff is a fan of palm trees. When we moved in our house here in Cavite, he started growing foxtail palm and Manila palm trees. Later on, we had Yucca plants, and other ornamental plants na dala lang lahat ni Nanay. Tinatanim nya lang basta sa backyard, masu-surprise na lang kami may Avocado tree tsaka Langka na pala syang tinanim haha… Other indoor plants na I just realized na meron kami are Calatheas and Calladiums. I will soon repot them kasi nasa lupa sila 😛
Back to the Yucca plant, I love this plant because it’s filed under “plants that survive under my care” hahaha. Whenever Jeff’s out of town, pagbalik nya, buhay pa naman yung Yucca. Plus our Yucca plants have stories in them, yung isa rescued from the trash, yung isa rescued from our neighbor na nagpalinis ng garden at kasama sila sa pinutol.
The cement pot is Jeff’s Mother’s Day gift last May. We are in search of a pot that will suit our Yucca plant kaya lang wala kaming magustuhan. Well, may nakita kaming mga ceramic pots along Concha Cruz in BF dati but out of budget that time. I insisted on buying plastic or terracotta pots na lang kaya lang ayaw nya. Kaya Jeff made this for me.
Making this cement pot is not easy, aside from magastos, mga naka-ilang epic fail sya plus yung mga nasirang molds/pails hahaha… I love this pot but after a few fails, mas magastos gumawa because of the cement kaya bibili na lang kami.
I started paying attention to the plants na pinagtutusok lang ni Nanay sa lupa, thanks to this ECQ, naaasikaso ko sila. Problem is I have no pots para malipat ko sila. At dahil ECQ, hindi naman ako makalabas to buy pots. I’ve been asking Jeff to buy those white/gold terracotta pots na marami online. Naka-ilang sabi na ako pero di pa rin nya ako inuuwian ng ganun. Sabi ko na lang, ako na oorder sa Shopee.
Then he came home with these….
Kaya pala dedma sya pag sinasabihan ko syang bumili because he had something in mind. Yung mga ceramic pots that we often see in Concha Cruz pala ang gusto nyang bilhin. It’s because pang-indoor naman daw ang it’s okay to splurge. Pang-Manila House pala ang peg nya!
When I asked bakit ganun pa binili nya considering that the cheapest glazed ceramic pot in this group is Php 3,500, he just said, because I love you. 🙂 And he knows na matagal ko na raw gustong bumili ng pots, hahaha…. nagmadali tuloy nung sinabi kong oorder na ako online.
My husband taught me to be patient, and that good things come to those who wait. I’m not really good at waiting, and visualizing the end product that’s why I want things “instantly”. And I love my husband because he’s patient, generous, and hardworking. More pots please!!!
P.S. Look at this beauty, this one is For Sale, our beloved Yucca and our extra pot.
