The 39th Manila International Book Fair starts tomorrow, September 12 to 18, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. It will be a haven for book lovers, kids and adults alike. And did you know that the entire 2nd floor is dedicated to children’s and young adult books? Whoa! That’s thousands of storybooks and novels. I’m sure it can be overwhelming but here’s a guide made especially for those going with their kids to the 39th MIBF.

- Make a list. With the entire second floor of MIBF dedicated to children’s and young adult books, there’s sure to be a variety of reading materials on the shelves. Take note of the book publishers on your to-buy list for an easier navigation.
- Keep an eye out for discounts and special offers. There’ll be plenty of MIBF! Take advantage of exclusive discounts and sales from exhibitors. Who knows, maybe you can even get an early Christmas gift while roaming the exhibit area!
- Bond with Mom and Dad! Tag along with your parents and have some fun at art workshops and a variety of interactive and kid-friendly activities such as robotic displays from Da Science and Technology Corp., or simply go booth-hopping! Then, take photos with the MIBF mascots as keepsakes of a fun day spent with Mom and Dad.
- Games! Many exhibitors will hold their own special events, like Lampara Publishing House’s Storytelling Competition on Sept. 16. Visit the social media pages of the various publishers at the MIBF to keep track of the many activities they have lined up for kids!
- Attend book launches and signings. Meet authors and have your new purchases signed by them! Adarna House, Hiyas, Tahanan Books, and more will be setting up launches and signings of their newest releases, so don’t miss these unique opportunities, only at the MIBF.
Have fun with family at the MIBF! The MIBF is organized by Primetrade Asia, Inc. in partnership with Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc., Book Development Association of the Philippines, Philippine Booksellers Association, Inc., and the Overseas Publishers Representatives’ Association of the Philippines.
