How are you mommies? Kami humabol bago mag-Christmas last year, cough, colds and fever sa mag-ama ko tapos last week naman I had flu.
Anyway, can you protect yourself from flu? Yes!
Ways to prevent flu and other illnesses
- Boost your immune system. Proper diet, exercise, and plenty of sleep is all you need to keep your body in tip-top condition.
- Vitamin C with Zinc. Gwen takes Ceelin Plus with Zinc, vitamin C lang sya plus Zinc pero she doesn’t take multivitamins na. Last year, I think once or twice lang sya nagka-fever.
This is the way for our body to flush out toxins, syempre kasama na dun ang virus.
- Observe proper hygiene. Take a bath everyday. Change clothes and take a shower especially after you came from malls, public transport (hello MRT!), and other crowded places. Always wash your hands or carry a hand sanitizer with you.
- Improve air circulation at home. Importante na nagci-circulate ang hangin sa loob ng bahay nyo, para makalabas din yung viral particles in the air. Gawin nyo to instead dun sa chismis na maglagay daw ng onion o sibuyas sa isang room para ma-absorb daw ang flu virus, hindi po totoo yun according to science.
Can flu vaccine help prevent flu?
I wrote about this before, may flu shots din kami dati every year, I think for 3 or 4 years yata, nagpapa-vaccine kami. Pero we stopped na kasi Gwen is bigger na and we want to try natural ways to prevent sickness.

One of the reasons kasi why we had our flu shots before is we’re traveling outside the country, her pedia gave her flu shots for extra protection. Just weigh the pros and cons if you’re considering flu vaccines.

Hay naku, yes! Ramdam na ramdam ko kasi my 3 kids all came down with a terrible flu that took more than a week to subside and my youngest’s condition was borderline Pneumonia. Nakakaloka!
I think sa rest kami pumalpak, kasi my kids are late sleepers but we’ve had so many activities towards end of December to early this year, so hindi sila makatulog ng mahaba. Also water. we need to remind ourselves pa to drink 8 glasses of water at least.

Our pedia always recommend that we take the flu vaccine. It’s kinda expensive on our end considering that we are 7 in the family but I always believe it’s worth everything.

There are many who had the flu in the past weeks in our village also. My kids had some cold but it’s a good thing it didn’t progress. We vaccinate also to protect our family.
