After my 4D baby ultrasound at Face2Face, I got worried of what the OB said that I have low amniotic fluid level that’s why my baby’s images are not that sharp and clear. I started researching online about amniotic fluid levels in pregnancy and medical sites. After reading suggested sites from Google, I learned terms like oligohydramnios (too little amniotic fluid), polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid) and normohydramnios (adequate amount). Now, that’s something new huh? Last time I checked, my lab result appeared to be normohydramnios.
There are still some debate if drinking extra amounts of water can help increase amniotic fluid levels. One way to treat oligohydramnios is through amnoinfusion or injecting fluid into the uterus, this and plenty of bedrest is recommended. I do hope that I’m not at this point where I will undergo procedures/treatment for my pregnancy. Just thinking of my labor is enough to get me worried, and these medical terms makes me nosebleed…
